This year, T-Birds Serve is not able to offer our group hands-on community service projects, but we're looking for ways to help your family give back during this crazy time!

Pack to Give Back - Harvesters Holiday Boxes
Many holiday memories are made around a festive meal. However, this year for more than 387,000 people in the 26-county service area that Harvesters serves, a festive meal and tableside memories are not certain.

Over the next two weeks, we are asking the Trailwood community to provide Holiday Boxes for Harvesters.  Shop as a family (or do grocery pickup!) and print out the "Packed By" cards and leave a special note in your 'box'.  Or you can just decorate a card!  Please donate the entire contents (it's about $10) for the box in a tied plastic bag.  The finished bag can be dropped in the Harvesters bin located in the front vestibule by the main office at Trailwood.  Bags are due back to Trailwood by Nov. 19!

Each holiday bag should include the following items:
- 1 Package Stuffing Mix
- 1 15 oz Can Sweet Potatoes
- 1 14 oz Can Cranberry Sauce
- 1 15.25 oz Can Corn
- 2 14.5 oz Cans Green Beans
- 1 Package Gravy Mix
- 1 Package Corn Bread Mix
- 1 Package Instant Mashed Potatoes
- 1 10.5 oz Can Cream of Mushroom Soup

Election Outcomes

The election is over and on behalf of PTA I want to thank everyone who took the time to vote. We hope you voted with our public schools in mind.

The Trailwood area will be represented in the State Legislature next year by:

HD-19: Stephanie Clayton

HD-21: Mari-Lynn Poskin

SD-07: Ethan Corson

SD-11: Kellie Warren

We have invited all four to join us for a special evening PTA meeting with our neighbors from Brookwood and John Diemer on January 6 at 7pm. Please plan to join us! These individuals will make important decisions about how our schools are funded and operate.

We will be represented on the Kansas Board of Education by Melanie Haas, who happens to be a fellow Shawnee Mission South area parent.

Trailwood will be represented in the U.S. Senate by Roger Marshall and the U.S. House by Sharice Davids. As I write today on Wednesday morning (and as you likely know already!) we still await a result in the presidential election.
